Statement piece for this beautiful and unique brown mud cloth. This is a collectible textile in a rare print mudcloth. Hand made in Mali, Africa. This large people scenery print looks like an African tribal print and fits in modern and/or global home decor.
Shades of brown, mustard, black and white – African vintage cloth.
Bògòlanfini or bogola meaning “mud cloth” is a handmade Malian cotton fabric traditionally dyed with mud. It has an important place in traditional Malian culture and has, more recently, become a symbol of Malian cultural identity. The cloth is being exported worldwide for use in fashion, fine art and home decoration.
This piece has a superb large geo printed pattern looking like a piece of art or a painting.
The hand-feel of this piece is substantial as it is a burlap weave.
The African indigo mud cloth textiles can be used as is as a wall hanging piece of art, a drape over a couch or piece of furniture, a table runner or a bed throw. The fabric can also be used for making pillows, bedding, table cloth and others or simply for upholstery. It has a very casual boho styling and fits in any modern or rustic interior design.
This African indigo is in a very good condition: no holes or patches.
The textile is finished with a small uneven fringe, raw edges
